Bidding faster is the goal of every estimator, and B2W Estimate includes major features and capabilities that speed up the estimating process while ensuring accuracy. However, we have paid attention to some little things too.

A keystroke or mouse click might not seem like a big deal in the grand scheme of creating an estimate, but each one takes time. The larger the bid, and the more bids you do, the more they add up.

There are some clever time-saving keyboard shortcuts built into B2W Estimate that experienced users take advantage of regularly. I encourage you to put the list on your desk and start trying a few.

The top row on most keyboards includes the F1 through F12 keys. Many can be used by themselves or in combination with other keys to help B2W users speed through their estimates. This is what the “F” keys by themselves can be used for in B2W Estimate.

  • F1 Help

  • F5 Refresh Screen

  • F7 Go to Resources

  • F8 Go to Item Databases

  • F9 Go Back to Estimate

  • F10 Sub Management

  • F11 Vendor Management

Keyboard combinations allow users to hold down the “Ctrl” key along with another key to affect an action. Standard combinations that can be used in almost any program, including B2W Estimate include:

  • Ctrl + P Print

  • Ctrl + C Copy

  • Ctrl + X Cut

  • Ctrl + V Paste

  • Ctrl + B Bold Text

  • Ctrl + I Italicize Text

Additionally, these two specialized combinations work in B2W Estimate to create or open an estimate.

  • Ctrl + N Create New Estimate

  • Ctrl + O Open Estimate
