Fisksätra Entré is part of Nacka municipality's major investment in Fisksätra center. Looström and Heidelberg Materials are designing and producing the frame in Kvarter B, using Tekla Structures' buildable model. Follow the project here and in our social media.

Looström has been commissioned by Heidelberg Materials to design the frame for a block in Nacka municipality's major investment in Fisksätra Entré, an urban transformation of Fisksätra center. The project we are working on is called Kvarter B and includes a nursing home, a preschool and housing," says Erik Åkerman, Group Manager for Tekla Prefab at Looström. Together with his colleagues in the group, he is a specialist in Tekla Structures and has been building up the department for three years.

High degree of prefabrication

- We carry out all the manufacturing documents here at Looström, which includes all the steel and concrete. The manufacturing then takes place in the factory in Norrtälje, says Erik, and continues: "Since the frame is relatively simple and straight, this allows for a high degree of prefabrication. Without Tekla Structures in this project, it would not have been possible. We have used a model from start to finish and started with a rough model at an early stage. The element division, balling with the customer and quantity documentation were done at an early stage to facilitate orders.

A model throughout the process

When detailed design began, Tekla Structures was used throughout the process - we were able to maximize the prefabrication rate of the building thanks to the software. A detailed model at the construction contract stage enabled discussions with the installation team to find the best solutions. The model was also very helpful for the factory and its deliveries.

Bills of quantities for manufacturing

During deliveries, quantity lists were created for all materials involved and sent to the construction site."Tekla Structures makes it easy for us to make changes quickly if needed. Any changes that occur during installation are captured and documented," says Erik. One challenge in the project is that there is an existing building very close to our new structures, about half a meter in some places.- It has required extra measurements, on-site control, and changes in the design to make it work, explains Erik.

Proprietary environment

At Looström, they work in a proprietary Tekla environment."A very big advantage of Tekla Structures is the ability to customize it to our own needs. We have customized it to be able to work with different clients with the same user interface internally, which speeds up the process considerably," says Erik Åkerman.
