Dive into the world of CAeP Ingénierie, where Trimble solutions have been integrated for fluid network design and project management. Julien Nowecki, head of the engineering department, shares his thoughts on the integration of these technologies!
CAeP Ingénierie design office
Founded in 2009, CAeP Ingénierie is part of the L.A Concept Group. The engineering firm deploys its expertise in :
hVAC design (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Sanitation and Electricity) and site supervision of technical work packages
execution (EXE studies for CVCS lots)
synthesis missions
energy performance through regulatory thermal studies ( RT 2012, RE 2020, RE element by element), audits and thermal and technical diagnostics
The group's assignments focus on construction, renovation and extension projects in the residential and tertiary sectors. For its part, CAeP Ingénierie designs, audits and supports energy renovation projects .
It's a vast field, and one that has been a real challenge for several years now. It's a subject that has been the focus of real ambition within the design office.
The CAeP team is made up of engineers trained in-house to master all energy-related issues: thermal, networks and environmental, with the ambition, for each of them, to :
Produce thermal studies that are optimized from a regulatory and financial point of view
Adjust and anticipate the constraints linked to the systems and associated networks proposed in these studies (space requirements, installation requirements, etc.)
Julien Nowecki: Director, CAeP Ingénierie design office
With 12 years' experience in HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning), Julien Nowecki has been head of the CAeP Ingénierie design office since 2019. He discovered Trimble Nova during his career - in 2011. His use of Trimble Nova enabled him to meet Gaël LHENRY, founding director of the L.A. group, with whom he joined forces in 2022 to pursue CAeP Ingénierie's original ambition.
Using Trimble at CAeP Ingénierie
The CAeP Ingénierie team started using Trimble tools in May 2015, a period that corresponds to the burgeoning craze for BIM (Building Information Modeling) in the construction sector.
What is BIM?
BIM (Building Information Modeling) is a collaborative working methodology. It is based on the creation and use of digital models to design, build and operate a building or infrastructure.

Improve fluidity and productivity
BIM represents real added value for CAeP Ingénierie customers. The team's strength lies in its ability to respond to specific BIM-related requests. Above all, however, it is a working method that is integrated into the day-to-day work of all CAeP Ingénierie engineers, whatever the project. The stated aim is to produce drawings or technical notes that can be understood by all project stakeholders: project owners, architects, economists and others.
The result: understandable projects, and real time savings for all concerned.
Trimble Nova and Trimble Connect software, used continuously by the teams, enable all HVAC networks to be drawn and dimensioned, and represented on a digital mock-up as they will be implemented. This gives a clear view of the actual network footprint, and makes it possible to quickly visualize any conflicts with other trades. Ultimately, this enables us to anticipate any problems that may arise, which are always more costly when undetected.
site implementation
"When modifications are made well in advance of the project, they facilitate visibility and the work of all parties involved. That's the whole point of Trimble Nova and the plans it produces! Julien Nowecki, Managing Partner of CAeP Ingénierie
Facilitating communication and exchanges
In the construction sector, the numerous round trips are particularly time- and energy-consuming. Thanks to Trimble Connect 's functionalities - and in particular its annotations - exchanges are centralized and streamlined for all those involved in a project.
The ultimate aim is to provide support and service, and reduce time wasted on site, right from the start of the design phase. The software thus fulfills a major ambition: to limit loopholes.
Today, Julien Nowecki and his team have a new ambition: to expand the use of BCF (BIM Collaboration Format) notes. This neutral file format, separate from the BIM model, is dedicated to coordination information.
Focus on Trimble Nova software
Trimble Nova is a drawing and design tool for fluid networks (HVAC, plumbing and electricity). It can be linked to other software programs to take account of a project's thermal parameters.
The CAeP Ingénierie team uses Trimble Nova on a daily basis. And for good reason: it makes it easier to anticipate a number of problems in the design or execution phase:
plumbing, heating and ventilation installation rules;
space optimization based on technical network congestion;
estimates for technical lot services.
In concrete terms, Trimble Nova is a tool that enables you to quickly anticipate any problems linked to technical work packages throughout a project (from design to execution).
Thanks to Trimble Nova's integrated network quantity survey tools, the software also facilitates the estimation of services related to technical work packages. The continuity of all these elements lies in execution - Trimble Nova enables the production of installation details, the quantity of materials required and interaction with other trades.
Results: Trimble Nova does more than just save time, it saves quality. In fact, with the same amount of time spent, teams will be able to provide a higher level of detail and be more responsive!
Trimble software training at CAeP Ingénierie
Julien Nowecki was the first to be introduced to Trimble Nova, during a previous professional experience in 2011 during two two-day sessions.
In addition to software training, Trimble Nova also helps with business training, particularly in terms of onboarding and skills upgrading. And for good reason: the two points complement each other, and the tool is well designed for gradual learning and going into greater detail.
