The new version of Trimble Connect for Windows (1.16.0.388) brings you a host of updates to improve the way you work and view your projects in Trimble Connect.

This new version includes a "3D model comparison" feature that lets you visually compare .IFC and .Tekla files.

With this feature, you can also :

  • Select two versions of the same model, or two models from the same project, to compare them.

  • Create a new model containing only changes/differences (called "diff model").

  • Choose whether to display the differences temporarily or keep the newly created model for later.

Note: The comparison only detects geometry and property changes when objects have GUIDs. Changed object properties are included in the comparison result.

There's also a new color display to help you detect your changes:

  • Green = object inserted

  • Grey = object modified/changed

  • Red = object deleted

  • Blue = only properties have been modified.

The modified technical properties are included in the comparison result. You can view the modified technical properties in the Trimble Connect for Windows properties panel or in the Trimble Connect for Internet 3D viewer data table. The result of the comparison must be saved in the project folder before being displayed in the browser. An asterisk at the end of the property name indicates a change in property value.

To view the properties of a comparison result in Trimble Connect for Windows, double-click on an object in the 3D view to open the properties panel:

To compare properties in the Trimble Connect for Internet 3D Viewer data table, open the data table and configure the columns to display modified property values (properties with an asterisk at the end of the property name):

This new version also includes direct opening of the object properties panel by simply double-clicking on the object in Trimble Connect for Windows.
