HARDI, Inc. in North America to Offer Trimble's
Lightbar Guidance Systems

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Dec. 17, 2003 -- Trimble (NASDAQ:TRMB) announced today that HARDI®, Inc. in North America, a leading manufacturer of agricultural sprayers and spraying equipment, will offer Trimble's AgGPS® family of parallel swathing lightbar guidance systems as part of its product line. The lightbar guidance systems are low-cost, easy-to-use, and take advantage of Trimble's innovative Global Positioning System (GPS) technology to help operators manually guide farm equipment in precise rows. The systems enable farmers to increase in-field productivity and profitability through more efficient utilization of crop inputs and agricultural vehicles, extended working hours and reduced costs.
"This is a natural synergy for HARDI, the leader in pull behind and mounted spray application equipment, to work with the world's leading positioning technology provider that designs and develops top-quality GPS systems for the agricultural market," said Tom Kinzenbaw, president and CEO of HARDI®, Inc. in North America.
"We are very excited to be working with HARDI," said Alan Townsend, vice president and general manager of Trimble's Field Solutions Division. "By adding lightbar guidance to its spraying equipment product line, HARDI is providing its customers with an economical solution to enhance in-field productivity."
The guidance technology provides farmers with information for driving precise rows during field preparation, planting, and agricultural product applications. The systems reduce application material costs by enabling drivers to apply material right the first time, eliminating skips and overlaps, lowering the cost per acre.
The lightbar guidance product line combines a high-performance GPS receiver with a lightbar that can be mounted ergonomically anywhere in the cab. The systems are fully upgradable to grow with the user, including as-applied mapping, soil sampling, flow control or variable-rate management.
