Trimble Introduces Accubid Enterprise Estimating Version 5 for Electrical Contractor

Revolutionary, Spec-driven and Modular Estimating Software Sets New Standard for Electrical Estimating

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Oct. 1, 2010 —Trimble (NASDAQ:TRMB) introduced today its Accubid® Enterprise Estimating Version 5 with support for electrical estimating, making it the only enterprise class solution on the market today designed specifically for electrical and ITS contractors. The robust, specification-driven estimating software represents a leap forward in estimating technology with job-wide, multi-user support leveraging Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft .NET technology.

The Accubid Enterprise Estimating Software will be showcased at the National Electrical Contractors Association's Annual Convention (NECA).

The Accubid Enterprise Estimating platform is a next generation framework for delivering productivity solutions for specialty contractors. A key strength of the platform is the ability to leverage data across the life of a project, without the need for disparate systems.

"We're very excited with the version 5 release," said Mark Mandarelli, chief product & technology officer for Trimble's Accubid Division. "It marks the availability of electrical estimating on the Accubid Enterprise platform, delivering job-wide, multi-user estimating with a strong technology foundation. Electrical contractors investing in the Accubid Enterprise Estimating platform are investing in a solution that scales with their business, providing a foundation for today and the future."

"Our specification driven method of takeoff, coupled with the robust SQL-based database, streamlines the estimating process for an electrical estimator, speeding up takeoff while ensuring greater accuracy with less data to manage in the database," said Al Ricci, chief sales & services officer of Trimble's Accubid Division. "One of the key new features designed into the Enterprise platform facilitates a process by which one assembly, coupled with a specification driven takeoff, can now do the work that once required many, many more assemblies. That's the power that the Accubid Enterprise Estimating software delivers, and it's unlike any solution we've ever built or available for the electrical market today."
