Trimble Introduces New Version of its UtilityCenter Software for
Utility Industry GIS Mapping and Asset Management

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Feb. 4, 2009 — Trimble (NASDAQ:TRMB) introduced today version 2.6 of its Trimble® UtilityCenter® software suite. The enterprise Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping and asset management software tools allow electric, gas, water and wastewater utilities to automate their workflow and business processes to increase efficiency and improve productivity.

Trimble UtilityCenter version 2.6 software includes new functionality and enhancements:

  • Enhanced usability and increased performance for outage management
  • Connection auto-restore for lost Local Area Network (LAN) connections
  • Microsoft Windows Vista x32 Operating System support
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and 2008 support which provides advanced replication management
  • ESRI ArcGIS 9.3 compatibility which provides additional GIS functionality

The Trimble UtilityCenter software provides a comprehensive suite of GIS-based workflow solutions designed to automate the daily business operations of utilities from outage management and work order tracking to updating GIS maps while in the field. The technology is fully scalable, cost-effective and able to meet the diverse needs of utilities. The Trimble UtilityCenter software includes application modules for utility desktop GIS mapping, mobile GIS and field staking, asset maintenance tracking, and outage management. Through an integrated desktop, Web and mobile platform, Trimble UtilityCenter provides utility office and field employees with a complete visual solution for managing assets, customers and mobile resources.
