Ryo is an SME specializing in the HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning) sector. With some forty employees, it uses various Trimble solutions that greatly improve the efficiency of its teams on its worksites.

Samuel Ryo is co-manager of the Morbihan-based company Ryo. For several years now, this SME specializing in plumbing, heating and ventilation has been using Trimble Nova software at the heart of its business. It has to be said that this CAD/CAM software is the platform of choice for producing 3D models of fluid circuits, for use on the construction sites that Ryo's teams visit on a daily basis. But 5 years ago, the company decided to enhance its equipment with another Trimble creation: the RTP600 layout station. This rapid positioning system enables Ryo's teams to take thousands of measurements on site in a very short space of time. The result is an even more serious entry into the world of connected construction.

An immediate increase in precision and efficiency

For Samuel Ryo, organizational problems had long tended to reduce the efficiency of his teams. "The observation we'd been making for several years was that, although we drew up summary plans at site meetings, this didn't mean that they were necessarily duplicated on site with our teams. In concrete terms, the first worker to come along would use the most favourable passages, and the next worker to arrive would manage by circling around them," sums up the company manager, whose somewhat muddled way of working is now a thing of the past: "The advantage of the robotized station is that it enables us to install clamps in relation to the summary plans. This means we don't have to deal with network passage conflicts between ourselves and other tradesmen during the works. The station allows us to go right to the end, and the synthesis work is really respected

Better control over logistics

In addition to the speed and precision that using the RTP600 station brings to planning his teams' work, Samuel Ryo believes that Trimble's tools also help to improve logistics. "It makes our work organization much easier. In particular, we can prepare the supports in advance in our workshop, even if the site is not yet accessible. This optimized management also applies to equipment. "We only take what we need to the site. As we sometimes work on very large sites, such as nursing homes, clinics, theaters... we can carry out precise packing by work zone. This also makes for a much cleaner worksite

Better collaboration between trades thanks to Trimble

The working methods of Ryo's teams are very well received, both in the office and on site. "When I go to site meetings, I notice that there are far fewer negative points to deal with with the architect or design office, because we've been able to anticipate so many things," says Samuel Ryo. "It also means we don't have to make decisions in a hurry, and when the need arises, we also have the time to redo the studies. The time saved by the Trimble RTP600 layout station enables Ryo's teams to fine-tune the preparatory work: "When we work upstream, we can, for example, find different, more suitable passages. This makes it possible to set up reservations during the design phase, in line with the architect's requirements. Samuel Ryo believes that this way of working benefits both his own teams and the other trades: "We all win, because there's a real exchange with our partners. Everyone knows the final result in advance, so it's not something they have to suffer The company director is convinced that using Trimble solutions has enabled Ryo to offer more advanced, higher-quality services. "Today, in general, we sometimes see that the quality of work is dragged down. But with products like Trimble's, you can clearly level things up, and I think that's the case in my company." Proof that the combination of good workers and the right tools can make all the difference.
