Project description
Construction of a mobile footbridge dedicated to soft mobility. The 80-meter-long footbridge features a world-first two-phase kinematics.
Part of the decking can be lowered to allow the central section to roll in, opening up to a width of 25 meters.
This retractable system allows boats to pass through, particularly those taking part in the Transat Jacques Vabre.
Challenges to meet
The project's main challenges :
Combine the structure's capacity with a 25m overhang
Create a structure that can withstand heavy loads but is visually compact
Invisibly integrate the mechanics to maintain the architectural finesse of the structure
The precision demanded by the extremely low operating clearances of this mobile structure
