Lattice girders: approx. 3.3 m high and 3.3 m wide (80t) Consoles (25t) : - PRS height 1,300 mm length 4,500 mm 6 SAS 950/1050 rods diameter 47 mm + 10 weld studs diameter 25 mm per anchor 5 isostatic spans (23 m to 31m) supported by 2 abutments and 4 consoles on piers GRP pipe: 21 sections approx. 6 m long and 2.4 m in diameter for 4.7 t piece

Project description
Steel structure supporting a 2.4 m diameter GRP (Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer) pipe for the left bank - right bank connecting channel of the Rhinau fish pass (67).
European project to restore fish continuity between the North Sea and the Schaffhausen Falls (Switzerland).
Total length of steel structure: 128 m Function of structure :
2 vertical lattice girders and 1 horizontal lattice girder forming a U with uprights spaced according to GRP supports
GRP cradles to prevent buckling of top chords
2 supports on metal brackets at each end of the trusses
Metal brackets in line with each stack
Challenges to meet
Installation of above-water structures and anchors with continuity of power plant operation
Lifting the structures from a road bridge over the dam piers with a large overhang
GRP pipe stresses (low rotation at junctions)
