Joinville-le-Pont, Thursday, February 9, 2023 - KP1 Group, a specialist in prefabrication - responsible, sustainable floors and structures for all buildings, and Trimble France, supplier of Tekla Structures software and other construction solutions, have strengthened their strategic partnership agreement signed in 2021 and extended it to December 31, 2027.
This renewed collaboration confirms the accelerating use of new modeling technologies within the various activities of KP1 and its subsidiary KP1 Bâtiments. The model-based software solutions implemented, such as Tekla Structures (for BIM, structural engineering and manufacturing management) and Trimble Connect (for accessing and sharing information between the various players in a project) cover the entire design, engineering and execution process:
⦁ KP1 post-and-beam framed buildings, ⦁ structures incorporating the "Prémur KP1" integrated formwork wall process.
These tools enable us to model complete prefabricated systems, including concrete elements, their openings and reservations, reinforcement, lifting and shoring systems and various inserts, while integrating manufacturing and site constraints (maximum dimensions of prefabrication tables, capacity limits of on-site lifting equipment, etc.). They also optimize and rationalize KP1's production processes, from the design of models to the supply of data for the numerically controlled machines in the prefabrication units, including the information required for purchasing and invoicing.
In order to optimize the flexibility of use and management of Trimble solutions in KP1's production strategy, the group has chosen to replace its perpetual licenses with subscription licenses as part of the extension of its framework agreement with Trimble France.
For several years now, Trimble France's development teams have been working closely with KP1's technical and IT teams, offering solutions and tools adapted to the needs of all companies in the precast concrete industry for modeling complete precast systems.
These developments include concrete elements and their openings, reinforcement, lifting and shoring systems, while taking into account manufacturing and site constraints such as the maximum dimensions of prefabrication tables in the factory, or the capacity limits of on-site lifting equipment.
In conjunction with partner developers, Trimble France has also responded to the demand to integrate our BIM solutions into KP1's overall production process, from the design of the models to the provision of data for the CNC machines in the prefabrication units and the information needed for purchasing and invoicing.
"As a building software publisher, it's a privilege to be able to work closely with the French specialist in precast concrete construction. The extension of this partnership with KP1 will enable us to continue our collaboration and thus go even further technically in the analysis of the need and the answers provided to KP1. In this way, we can provide not only BIM modeling solutions, but also solutions that cover all phases of a construction project, from design to fabrication to the construction site," says Jean-Yves Vétil, Customer Success & Structures Sales Director.
"Trimble Solutions France's strength lies in its ability to offer scalable tools that are totally adaptable to the industrial constraints of KP1 and its customers. Our two teams work closely together to develop functionalities specific to KP1's processes, methodology and products. Our objectives are to improve industrial performance based on the drawings supplied by our design offices, and to make it easier for contractors to implement and monitor their projects, thanks to detailed, explicit quality drawings that make them easier to understand. These software solutions are complete, ensuring a perfect link between the design office, the industrial site and the customer", emphasizes David Henriques, KP1's Technical & Innovation Director.
