Trimble Identity


The latest upgrade to Trimble Identity (TID) requires that all software products accessed via TID sign-in must be updated by August 30, 2021 to avoid any disruptions in service.

If you received an email notification, or were contacted directly about this, you have a software product that requires an update.

What is Trimble Identity?

Trimble Identity (TID) is the sign-in functionality used for fast, secure access to Trimble software products. Using multiple layers of high-level protection, TID safeguards your privacy and helps protect your data from growing global cyber-threats, while also offering several features to optimize reliability and performance. 

What is new in the upgraded version of TID?

The new TID upgrade includes significant security and user experience features designed to protect your company’s data, while also providing a more seamless user experience, including:

  • Two-factor authentication provides a second layer of security to protect your company’s information from malicious threats.
  • Single Sign-On (SSO) enables you to sign-in once for access to all Trimble applications.
  • Social sign-in with Google and Apple provides a simplified, quick and easy registration and login.
  • The ability to easily change the email address associated with your Trimble ID account.

How do I update my software?

This depends on the deployment model of your Trimble software product. Most Web applications will automatically initiate the update and display the new sign-in page. Your user name and password will remain the same.

Desktop applications may have to be updated individually, based on specific instructions for that software product.

Do I have to pay to update my software?

If your software product is active under a current maintenance or subscription contract, there should be no cost to update. There may be a cost involved for older software products no longer under contract. Contact Trimble Support if you are unsure about the status of your contract.

What happens if I don’t update my software?

After August 30, 2021, previous versions of software products accessed via TID will no longer be available. The update is required to continue using your software.
