How It Works
Requirements

With the DriverID feature and the TrimView™ mobile resource management solution, fleet managers can easily and accurately identify drivers individually versus by the vehicle they are driving.

Your vehicle operators can use the Trimview Mobile Data Terminal (MDT) to log in and out each time they operate the vehicle. Management can then generate web reports detailing vehicle and driver activity and utilize web-based administration tools for managing drivers.

Management Reports
DriverID provides management with two reports that assist them in managing their workforce. The Driver Activity Report provides a listing, by driver, of the vehicle(s) they operate, times of operation, and cumulative usage. The Vehicle Usage Report provides a listing, by driver, of all vehicle activity including summarized daily hours and daily mileage.

Web Administration Tools
DriverID also provides a simple set of web-based administration tools for managing drivers and driver groups. The 'Drivers' function allows the administrator to set up and manage drivers. This information is used in reports that show which drivers operated specific vehicles. The ‘Driver Groups’ function enables the administrator to create groups of drivers. Driver grouping provides a way to gather a selection of drivers and create a report based specifically upon them.

What Is DriverID?
Trimble Mobile Solutions' DriverID is composed of additional software within the TrimView Mobile Data Unit (MDU) and within the TrimView Mobile Data Terminal (MDT). When a driver enters the vehicle and turns on the ignition they are presented with an option to enter their DriverID on the MDT, as shown to the right. DriverID can be optionally configured to continually beep the MDT until the driver’s ID is entered.

Requirements

DriverID's functionality requires the TrimView Mobile Data Terminal display. In addition, the DriverID configuration worksheet must be completed for each in-vehicle device or set of devices.

Operating System Support
The recommended operating system is Microsoft® Windows® 2000 or Microsoft XP operating systems with Internet Explorer version 5.5 or greater.
