Spatial Imaging White Papers
Trimble VISION TechnologyTrimble VISION technology integrates calibrated digital cameras with Trimble S6 and S8 total stations, as well as the Trimble VX Spatial Station. These instruments have the ability to collect survey data, stream video from the perspective of the instrument, and capture panoramic still images. Trimble Access field software overlays survey data on the streaming video, which enhances the surveyor's field productivity when operating the instrument robotically. Trimble Business Center office software overlays survey data on the captured panoramic still images, enabling the surveyor to efficiently document features that were surveyed. Trimble Business Center also enables the surveyor to make terrestrial photogrammetric observations and compute point coordinates using the
Trimble VISION images. Trimble VISION photogrammetry is a survey tool that precisely measures points which were previously time-consuming, dangerous, or impossible to collect using other techniques.
"Trimble SureScan Technology", Trimble 2007
This paper describes Trimble® SureScan™ technology, a new mode of scanning that allows users to define a uniform resolution for an entire scan in one simple frame, giving a consistent spacing between 3D points over a framed surface. It also discusses the benefits that this latest advancement in Spatial Imaging brings.
Trimble 3D Scanning for Surveyors, Trimble 2005
This paper describes the differences between laser scanning and survey workflows and introduces the Trimble® GX™ 3D Scanner. The Trimble GX combines a portable and robust 3D scanner with commonly used survey workflows to provide a 3D scanning system specifically for surveyors. The survey workflows are described, highlighting that surveying professionals are able to easily incorporate 3D scanning into their business portfolio to obtain greater survey productivity.
3D Scanning for Forensics white paper, Trimble 2005
Laser surveying in 3D using 3D laser scasnners in crime scenes, attacks or accidents, enables obtaining a complete topographic document of the location and objects present, including metric information (3D) and images (2D). These surveys are carried out in a very short time.
"Open-Pit Mining in Indonesia" February 2005
"Nusa Tenggara is the Indonesian name for the more than 500 islands east of Bali, running from Lombok in the west to Timor in the east. Nusa Tenggara stretches over 1300 kilometers and lies just a few degrees south of the equator. The island of Sumbawa, in the northern part of this Indonesian island chain, is home to the Batu Hijau project..."
"3D Scanning for Tunnel Inspection" Trimble 2005
"Traffic congestion in the metro Paris area is probably
not the worst when compared with other major
conurbations around the world. However, this is small
consolation to French drivers when the A86
expressways missing link problem causes significant
traffic delays in and around the area."
