What to Do if You Get the Message While Trying to Download a Survey Controller File: Attached Device is Not a GIS Datalogger(gpoffice.pdf - 21 KB)GPSurvey? and GPS Pathfinder? Office may have a conflict when they are installed on the same computer. The conflict may result in GPSurvey being unable to download the Survey Controller if GPS Pathfinder Office has been used to download files recorded with Asset Surveyor firmware. This TIP includes instructions for modifying the TRIMSURV.INI and LOAD.INI files to fix the problem.

What to Do if You Perform Calibrations in the Field Using More than One Vertical Point in Survey Controller 7.0(sc7conv.pdf - 12 KB)The DC file converter is applying a distance conversion to the increment adjustments in the vertical calibration of Survey Controller? 7.0 software in the TSC1 data collector. This will affect all users who perform an in-field calibration using more than one vertical point in Survey Controller 7.0 and are working in US Survey Feet and/or International Feet. This TIP includes instructions on what to do if the job is in either the Survey Controller or Trimble Survey Office? software and how you can obtain the converter update for the Survey Controller.
How to Load an ASCII File with Local Coordinates into the Survey Controller(ascii2dc.pdf - 16 KB)You need special instructions to load an ASCII file with local coordinates into Survey Controller version 4. This TIP includes the instructions, which have four steps (1) creating a job in TRIMMAP?, (2) loading an ASCII file with local coordinates into TRIMMAP, (3) creating a data collector file, and (4) sending the data collector file to the Survey Controller.
(020107b.pdf - 24 KB)
How to Create a Survey Controller Version 4.xx Template File to Retain a Calibration(sc-temp.pdf - 21 KB)This TIP includes instructions for using TRIMMAP? to create a template or boilerplate Survey Controller data collector (DC) file for creating a new job with a previously derived calibration.
How to Import Third Party DTMs from TRIMMAP Version 6 into Survey Controller(dtm2sc.pdf - 18 KB)Three steps are involved to import third party DTMs from TRIMMAP? version 6 into Survey Controller: (1) you need to determine the file format of the DTM output by your survey software, (2) you need to edit the DTMIN.DAT file in the MAPSYS directory so the file can be read, and (3) you need to transfer the DTM file to Survey Controller. This TIP includes the instructions for these three steps.
How to Connect Your Pacific Crest Radio to Your Series 4000 Receiver and Configure the System Correctly(blubrick.pdf - 18 KB)If you have a Pacific Crest radio with model number RFM96W that you want to use with a Series 4000 receiver/Survey Controller, you may need instructions for connecting them and configuring the system correctly. This TIP includes a series of steps to help you troubleshoot any problems you may be having in connecting your Pacific Crest radio to your Series 4000 receiver and configuring the system correctly.
How to Load Local Grid Coordinates into the Survey Controller Version 4 without a Projection(raw2dc.pdf - 17 KB)TRIMMAP? version 6.0 and Survey Controller version 4 provide for the transmission of local grid coordinates to the datalogger without a calibration or projection. This TIP includes the instructions.
How To Create a Job with Survey Controller Version 4(sc4_job.pdf - 22 KB)The Survey Controller version 4 can perform various types of GPS surveys, for example, real-time kinematic and fast static. Regardless of the type of GPS survey, all Survey Controller projects begin by creating a job. This TIP includes instructions for creating a job in Survey Controller version 4, and describes some of the options for creating a job.
How to Use the Auto Point Numbering Feature in Survey Controller Version 4.00 with Point Numbers Less Than 1000(sc42gpsr.pdf - 235 KB)In Survey Controller version 4.00, using the auto point numbering feature with point numbers less than 1000 requires special instructions. For example, numbers less than 1000 need to be padded with up to three zeros. This TIP includes instructions for using the auto point feature with numbers less than 1000. Note that this feature is not available with earlier versions of Survey Controller.
Where You Can Find Instructions for Using the Survey Controller Version 4.00 File Transfer Program(sc4xfer.pdf - 120 KB)When you are using Survey Controller version 4.x, you will need a file transfer program that can be used without a security device. A file transfer program is located on the Survey Controller version 4.00 upgrade disk. This TIP tells you where you can find instructions for using this program.
