Style Sheets for Road Definition Files

Download the latest style sheets that can be used with the ASCII File Generator utility program for Trimble Access or Trimble Survey Controller to process roading definition files. Create reports from RoadXML (Trimble road definition) files or transform LandXML files into roading format files for use in the field.

RoadXML to DC File(RoadXML to DC File.zip - 8 KB)This style sheet will let you convert a RoadXML (rxl) file copied off the Trimble Survey Controller to a DC file containing the road definition data. You can then import this DC file into the RoadLink program for viewing and reporting.
Posted 25th January 2011 (support for road scale factor added added).
RoadXML Report(RoadXML report.zip - 164 KB)This style sheet creates a report, using the data in the RoadXML file, that lists the stations along the road (both geometric and regular stations) with identifiers for the geometric points and design elevations for each station. The instantaneous radius, azimuth and grid coordinates are reported for each station. This report can be used to assist in the validation of road designs prior to staking out.

RoadXML Offset Points Report(RoadXML Offset Points report.zip - 153 KB)This style sheet will create a report, using the data in the RoadXML file, that lists the stations along the road (both geometric and regular stations) with identifiers for the geometric points and design elevations for each station. In addition the report will display the computed offsets and elevations for the positions at the end of the nominated cross-section element, left and right of the alignment, where templates are being applied. This report can be used to assist in the validation of road designs prior to staking out.

RoadXML Stakeout Report(RoadXML Stakeout report.zip - 68 KB)This style sheet creates a report of all the design positions on each cross-section along the road, based on the horizontal alignment, vertical profile, superelevation and widening parameters and template definitions and assignments. You can use this report to validate the road design prior staking out.

LandXML to RoadXML File(LandXML to RoadXML.zip - 27 KB)This updated style sheet is designed to work with the ASCII File Generator version 1.0.23 program which allows the style sheet itself to present the dialogs allowing the selection of the alignmnet and cross-section surface to be used. See the instructions available in the zip file for more details.

ViaNova LandXML to GENIO(ViaNova LandXML to GENIO.zip - 25 KB)This style sheet will let you convert a ViaNova LandXML file containing containing horizontal alignments and vertical profiles defined as groups of 'string' definitions by the ViaNova system to a GENIO file containing the same string definitions. You can then use this GENIO file in the Trimble Access Roads module or in the Trimble Survey Controller system.
