During installation, an error dialog appears with the title Self-Registration Error. The contents of the error dialog state The following files did not self-register or unregister, and each of the SDK components is listed. The same error has also been reported by some customers when running the PFTools 240.Win32.msi installer on a Trimble Yuma rugged tablet computer. Note: This problem does not affect installation of the SDK components on devices powered by the Windows Mobile operating system. This support note describes the problem and how to resolve it.

GPS Pathfinder Tools SDK: .NET Compact Framework Application Fails to Exit Properly(SprtNote_PFTools_NET_Framework_Exit_Failure.pdf - 112 KB)Under some circumstances, a Microsoft® .NET Compact Framework application that uses the GPS Pathfinder® Tools components may not exit properly when it is closed. When this issue occurs, the application will still be shown in the list of running programs displayed in the Memory or Task Manager applet on the mobile device. A subsequent attempt to run the same application may fail, as the previous instance is still running. This support note describes how to avoid this issue.
