Rick Beyer joined Trimble in March 2004 as president of Trimble Mobile Solutions and in May 2006, Beyer was appointed a vice president of Trimble. In October 2007 his role was expanded to include responsibility for a number of Trimble's mobile solutions business divisions. Prior to joining Trimble, Beyer held senior executive positions within the wireless mobile solutions industry since 1987. Part of the original senior executive team that launched Qualcomm's OmniTRAC's mobile satellite communication solution, Beyer also held the positions of general manager at Rockwell Collins, on-board computing division, from 1994 to 1995; executive vice president of Norcom Networks from 1995 to 1999; president of Husky Technologies, now part of Itronix, from 1999 to 2000; and CEO of TracerNet, which was acquired by Trimble, from 2002 to 2004. He holds a B.A. from Olivet College and was Chairman of the Board at the college from 2000 to 2003. He was elected Trustee Emeritus in 2007. Beyer also served as a member of the Council of Board Chairs for the Association of Governing Boards for Colleges and Universities from 2002 to 2005.
