Nomad: AA Battery Module Guide (88 KB)Before installing your Nomad AA Battery Module into your Nomad, please check to make sure you are running firmware version: 1.0.2 or later. Tap Start / Settings / System and tap on the System Information icon to see the version of firmware installed on your Nomad. To upgrade to the latest firmware go to our website, www.trimble.com/rugged.Nomad: ActiveSync Bluetooth Commmunication with Computer running Windows XP (414 KB)A Nomad™ which is equipped with integrated Bluetooth can communicate with a PC over an ActiveSync Bluetooth connection. To establish an ActiveSync Bluetooth connection with your Nomad, confirm that ActiveSync 4.5 or later is installed on the PC, and follow the steps outlined in this support note.Nomad: Bluetooth Cell Phone as Modem (176 KB)It is possible to use a Web-enabled Bluetooth cell phone as a modem so that the Nomad can connect to the Internet to send and receive email (including file attachments). You will need a dial-up account at an Internet Service Provider (ISP).Nomad: Bluetooth File Transfer (132 KB)It is possible to transfer files via a Bluetooth connection between your TRIMBLE Nomad™ and other Bluetooth-enabled TRIMBLE handheld computers. It does not matter whether the other TRIMBLE handheld computer (Ranger™ X-Series, Recon® X-Series, Recon or Nomad) has a built-in Bluetooth radio or a Socket Bluetooth CompactFlash (CF) card. Detailed instructions for three scenarios are included in this document.Nomad: Copying More Than 10,000 Files onto the Internal Flash Memory May Disable the Handheld (128 KB)If you copy more than 10,000 files onto the internal flash memory of the Trimble® Nomad™ handheld it may disable the handheld and require you to return the handheld to Trimble to be fixed. ActiveSync is pre-installed on your Nomad. Before connecting your Nomad to your Windows XP PC, install ActiveSync on your PC from the Nomad Getting Started CD. Alternatively, ActiveSync is available as a free download from the Microsoft® web site (www.microsoft.com).Nomad: Transferring Files With a Computer Running Windows Vista (352 KB)The Windows Mobile® Device Center (WMDC) allows you to synchronize information and copy files between your Windows Vista PC and your Trimble Nomad™. You do not need to install anything on the Nomad in order for it to communicate with the WMDC. Before connecting your Nomad to your Windows Vista PC, install the WMDC on your PC from the Nomad Getting Started CD. Alternatively, the WMDC is available as a free download from the Microsoft® web site (www.microsoft.com).Nomad: Using the Socket RFID Reader CompactFlash Card (148 KB)This document provides information about using the Socket RFID reader CompactFlash (CF) card with the Trimblle Nomad rugged handheld computer.Nomad: Using the Intermediate GPS Driver (161 KB)The purpose of the Microsoft® Intermediate GPS Driver is to allow multiple GPS-aware applications to simultaneously receive data from a GPS receiver. If you only run one GPS-aware application at a time, then you do not need to enable or configure the Intermediate GPS Driver.Nomad/Ranger/Recon: Using Remote Display Controller on XP or Vista (128 KB)Occasionally you may want to view the screen of your Recon or Ranger on your PC.
