Trimble's GPS Analyst Software Extension for ArcGIS Begins Shipping
Software Extension Offers Powerful GPS Data Processing Inside ArcGIS
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Dec. 2, 2004 -- Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) announced that its new software extension, Trimble® GPS Analyst, began shipping today. An extension to ESRI's popular ArcGIS software, Trimble GPS Analyst is the only software on the market today that enables Mapping and Geographic Information System (GIS) professionals to directly process and differentially correct GPS data inside the ArcGIS software environment.
The GPS Analyst extension improves data accuracy and field-to-office workflow by tightly integrating GPS location data with the GIS database. By differentially correcting data with GPS Analyst, users can improve the accuracy of GPS positions from 10 meters to 50 centimeters, depending on the environment and the GPS receiver.
"Trimble's GPS Analyst provides additional functionality that ESRI users have needed in order to collect, update and process GPS data in their native ArcGIS environment," said Craig Greenwald, mobile GIS engineer for Bradshaw Consulting Services, Inc. (BCS). "ArcGIS users no longer have to wonder how accurate their GPS-based data is, as GPS Analyst retains these details along with the data. As a software developer, BCS is really excited with the release of this open platform ArcGIS extension, and we look forward to building custom GPS Analyst applications for our customers."
GPS Analyst stores detailed information about the quality of every position in the database and provides powerful tools for analyzing this information. In addition, it is fully open, customizable and extendible using ArcObjects, allowing developers and customers to build workflows and applications that meet their specific needs.
GPS Analyst software extension is available now from Trimble dealers and business partners, and from ESRI.
