Trimble Introduces New Multi-Purpose Construction Laser for
Interior and Exterior Applications
The Rugged Spectra Precision Laser HV301 Provides High Visibility, Accuracy and Versatility
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Nov. 7, 2003 -- Trimble (NASDAQ:TRMB) today introduced the Spectra Precision™ Laser HV301, an affordable interior and general construction laser capable of withstanding harsh conditions in a wide variety of applications and job sites. The automatic, self-leveling HV301 features a highly visible beam and exceptional versatility. Designed for use by virtually any general contractor for leveling, alignment or plumb transfer, anywhere, the HV301 is easy to set up and use, with intuitive controls and many "one-touch" commands.
The HV301 transmitter sends a continuous, self-leveled 360-degree laser reference over a large work area, up to a 300-meter (1000 feet) diameter. It is rugged and can withstand a drop of up to 1-meter (3 feet) to a hard surface. The HV301 is also water and dust-resistant and meets IP54 standards, allowing it to maintain accuracy in dirty and moist environments, even in rain.
In addition to being powerful and rugged, the HV301 is extremely versatile. In both interior and exterior projects, the HV301 is capable of handling a wide variety of horizontal, vertical and plumb applications. Its high-visibility beam enables simultaneous rotating and plumb/perpendicular references. The beam is easy to see in any job site conditions, even brightly lit interiors. One touch turns the unit on and it begins to automatically level. The user may then set the unit to the desired height and be ready to work in well under two minutes.
The HV301 is flexible in the area of power management as well. Able to operate for up to 40 hours on a set of alkaline batteries, the HV301 can also operate on Ni-Cad batteries. The HV301's recharge port allows the laser to be charged in the case or operated from an AC current on a wall mount or tripod.
The HV301 is available in three configurationsone for interior applications, one for general construction applications, and a combo kit for both interior and exterior applications. Typical interior applications include acoustical ceiling installation, drywall installation, squaring/layout and interior finishing work. Typical outdoor general construction applications include residential and medium-sized commercial construction, leveling, and vertical alignment. It can be used anywhere an automatic level is used.
"The HV301 is an all-purpose, affordable laser solution for the leveling and alignment challenges faced by contractors in both interior and exterior applications," said Pat Bohle, division vice president for Trimble's Construction Instruments Business. "By being highly durable, versatile and visible as well as easy to set up and use, the HV301 addresses some very important contractor needs."
The new Spectra Precision Laser HV301 laser transmitter is available now through Trimble's Construction Instruments dealer network.
