Trimble and Computer Guidance Partner to Provide Better
Trimble's VisionLink Solution Combined with Computer Guidance's eCMS ERP Solution
LAS VEGAS, Nov. 5, 2012—Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) and Computer Guidance Corporation, the leading developer of financial and project management software solutions for architecture, engineering and construction companies, announced today interoperable solutions that seamlessly work together for the capture, processing and reporting of heavy equipment utilization, maintenance and accounting.
The announcement was made at Trimble Dimensions 2012.
Trimble's advanced positioning solutions provide real-time, automated data capture of business-critical information, including hours of use, idle time, fuel usage and location of heavy construction equipment. The information is then automatically delivered to VisionLink™ powered by Trimble to provide users a holistic view of jobsite operations.
Computer Guidance Corporation and Trimble have partnered to deliver—eCMS Connect for VisionLink—to provide contractors real-time equipment information in eCMS enterprise resource planning for further processing and reporting. As a result of the integration, eCMS Equipment Accounting and Equipment Maintenance applications are automatically updated on a scheduled basis with the information from VisionLink, giving contractors access to accurate and real-time asset management data, automated usage-based billing, advanced reporting and precise forecasting.
eCMS Connect is an extension application for Computer Guidance's eCMS Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution which provides connectivity for third-party application data and business process information into the eCMS database via Web services.
"Tighter budgets and strict deadlines force construction companies to better utilize their assets," said Alan Sharp, business area director for Trimble's Site Positioning Systems and Software Solutions. "Having real-time and accurate construction equipment information on hand with integrated enterprise resource planning software can result in a quicker return on investment and increased productivity."
"Trimble is known for developing innovative productivity tools that change the way construction work is done," said Roger D. Kirk, chief executive officer, Computer Guidance Corporation. "Our product integration with Trimble sets a new precedent for our industry as we pioneer end-to-end technologies with greater business intelligence."
