Trimble Introduces Rugged Construction Total Station for
Concrete and General Contractors
Provides Easier Structure Layout and Alignment
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Oct. 14, 2004 -- Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) today introduced its new Spectra Precision® Optical TS415 Construction Total Station, a portable layout and measurement tool for general and concrete contractors in commercial and residential applications.
The TS415 is designed for the layout of control lines, offset points, excavation lines, foundations, forms and footers, and anchor bolts. Additionally, the construction total station is designed for a variety of alignment and measuring applications, such as checking plumb, layout of arcs, and checking distances between points.
Set-up is designed to be simple. The TS415 Construction Total Station can be set up in a convenient location for maximum visibility of the work area. The contractor can then measure two control points before starting to lay out excavation lines, concrete forms and anchor bolts. All layout functions have built-in checks, and all relevant data can be stored for future reference. Dual-axis compensation ensures that the TS415 remains level and accurate, even during steep sighting applications such as high rise control. A large display, full keyboard, and long battery life provide even greater ease of operation.
The TS415 is designed to work seamlessly with the Trimble LM80 layout manager, a pocket-sized personal computer featuring data collection software created specifically for in-the-field construction layout. The LM80 allows the contractor to input blueprint dimensions—even complex curves and arcs—and build a digital replica of the layout plan. The graphical plan can then be used as an aid to laying out points with the TS415.
The Trimble family of Spectra Precision Optical products, which includes the TS415 Construction Total Station, TS315 Construction Total Station and LM80 Layout Manager, are available now through Trimble's Construction Instruments dealer network.
