Trimble Releases Accubid LiveCount and LiveCount Pro Version 3
For Contractors with Access Only to PDF, TIFF or Other Raster Drawings, LiveCount and LiveCount Pro Offer Paperless Takeoff Technology that Links Drawing Quantities Directly into Accubid Estimates and Change Orders
LAS VEGAS, Oct. 1, 2012—Trimble (NASDAQ:TRMB) introduced enhancements to its Accubid® LiveCount® family of paperless takeoff solutions for mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) trades. New features in the latest version include the enhanced ability to compare drawings of different paper sizes, takeoff of isometric drawings and batch plotting of large drawing sets while continuing to work in the application.
The announcement was made at the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) 2012 Convention.
The LiveCount software solutions continue to provide contractors with the ability to seamlessly integrate and mark up digital image files to manage the quantification process during takeoffs. Building on the strength of the application's capacity to link directly to Accubid estimates and change orders, project managers and estimators can now easily update and change the location of linked drawings, as well as convert gray-scale PDFs to black & white TIFF images on-the-fly so as to more easily identify walls when comparing drawings.
In addition to the features found in LiveCount, LiveCount Pro expands its auto count process, a symbol recognition feature that quantifies like objects in the drawing. The auto count feature also ignores objects that have already been counted and allows the estimator to isolate part of the drawing to be counted. This can speed up takeoff time significantly. The unique ability to refine results as part of the auto count feature also allows contractors to hone in on those results, streamlining the on-screen takeoff process and increasing takeoff accuracy. This process expedites repetitive counting tasks and can reduce auto count errors and omissions. LiveCount Pro also adds compatibility with popular online plan rooms.
"As more and more users are making the transition away from paper drawings to perform takeoffs, we continue to raise the bar with LiveCount," said Mark Mandarelli, director of Development for Trimble's MEP Office Solutions. "With the additional enhancements to our auto count technology, we have made another significant step forward in providing users the ability to generate accurate quantities in record time."
