Trimble Offers Desktop Cradle Accessory for Recon Handheld Computer
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Sept. 21, 2006 — Trimble (NASDAQ:TRMB) today announced a new accessory for its Trimble Recon® rugged handheld computer. The new desktop cradle accessory combines a charging station with a USB port, allowing users to recharge the Recon while transferring files to a desktop or laptop computer or synch with other electronic devices. Available from authorized Trimble dealers, the desktop cradle accessory is priced at US$179 MSRP.
When users return from the field, the new desktop cradle accessory gives them a convenient way to upload or download files and synch with other devices while recharging the Recons battery, said Dale Kyle, rugged handhelds product manager. In addition, to further improve productivity, the cradle is designed so the Recon can still be used while its charging.
