Trimble Creates Alliance with Brience Companies to Offer Customized Broadband and Wireless Services via the Internet
SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 6, 2000 --- Trimble Navigation Limited (NASDAQ:TRMB) announced today that Data on Air, Inc. has been acquired by Brience, Inc., a California privately-held company that intends to provide enterprise solutions enabling delivery of Internet content to wireless and broadband devices. As part of the transaction, Trimble received cash and stock in exchange for its minority interest in Data on Air, and will now hold a minority interest in Brience. Additional terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Data on Air, a privately-held advanced wireless solutions company, will become an operating unit of Brience. The strategic marketing agreement between Trimble and Data on Air, announced on April 5, 2000, will remain intact with Brience. Trimble and Brience will now team to provide enterprise-level applications enabling dynamic delivery of customized information via broadband and wireless devices.
