Trimble Equips Second Polish Government Agency with GPS Technology
SUNNYVALE, Calif., May 4, 2006 — Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) announced today that it has supplied 271 GeoXT™ rugged GPS handheld receivers, part of the GeoExplorer® series, to Poland's Plant Health and Seed Inspection Services (PHSIS), a national government agency. The GeoXT combines submeter GPS technology with a rugged handheld computer running Microsoft® Windows Mobile® software. The GeoXT receiver allows users to collect location and attribute data and keep existing Geographic Information System (GIS) information up to date. The GPS receiver, antenna and all-day battery are all built into the handheld computer to provide an integrated, cable-free solution.
Shipments of the 271 GeoXT receivers and related software were completed in December of 2005.
