New Handheld Distance Meter Introduced by Trimble
Spectra Precision Laser HD150 Provides High Accuracy and
Easy One-person Operation, Regardless of Jobsite Conditions
SUNNYVALE, Calif., May 2, 2003 -- Trimble (NASDAQ:TRMB) introduced today an innovative new handheld distance meter, the Spectra Precision LaserTM HD150. Featuring fast operation, very accurate measurement, improved outdoor performance and significant safety advantages, the HD150 is a durable and versatile tool designed for on-the-jobsite use by general, HVAC and electrical contractors as well as builders and engineers.
The HD150, capable of measuring distance, area and volume, provides very accurate readings, both indoors and outdoors, in less than one second. This speed combined with its one-person operation results in considerable productivity gains. In addition, an easy-to-use keyboard interface minimizes training and work time, further enhancing productivity.
The HD150 is highly accurate (2 mm / <1/8 in), even over ranges up to 150 meters (500 ft). It is capable of measuring from a variety of fixed reference points including floors, walls, round columns, and both inside and outside corners. Ideal for use by interior contractors, builders and engineers as well as HVAC, electrical and general construction contractors, the HD150 can handle a wide range of applications including the measurement of length, width, height, edges, area or volume.
Its many innovative features make the HD150 an ideal choice for measuring to hard-to-reach or hazardous locations such as elevator shafts or open stairways. The HD150's easily visible red laser and sighting grooves, along with its one-person operation, allow for fast targeting and increased safety. Further enhancing the HD150's efficiency, it operates for an entire year on one pack of AA batteries
"The HD150 is everything you need for measuring distance, area or volume on the jobsite," said Pat Bohle, division vice president of sales and marketing for Trimble's Construction Instruments Division. "General contractors and other users will appreciate the affordability and quality delivered by this exciting new distance measurement device."
Trimble's new Spectra Precision Laser HD150 Distance Meter is available now through Trimble's Construction Instruments Division dealer network.
