Trimble Signs CompassCom as a Reseller for
Public Safety Automatic Vehicle Locations Systems
SUNNYVALE, Calif., March 14, 2002 - Trimble (NASDAQ:TRMB) announced that it has signed an agreement to expand its relationship with CompassCom Inc. to serve as an Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) value-added reseller for the public safety market.
Trimble's AVL Subsystems, which are based on Global Positioning System (GPS) technology, are primarily designed for managing public safety fleets such as fire, police and emergency medical services (EMS), a market served by CompassCom. As a value-added reseller, CompassCom will offer Trimble AVL Subsystem customers access to a wider range of products and services.
As part of the reseller agreement, CompassCom will also offer maintenance contracts for ongoing support of Trimble AVL Subsystems customers.
