Trimble Introduces Automatic Laser Leveling System for Value-Conscious Contractors
LAS VEGAS, Feb. 27, 2001- Trimble (NASDAQ:TRMB) introduced today the latest addition to its growing family of construction laser products--the Model 1242 automatic laser leveling system for efficient, one-person leveling. The system is designed to offer small- to mid-size contractors the key features of a high-end solution at a fraction of the cost.
The announcement was made today at the World of Concrete Exposition.
The new Model 1242 laser combines automatic self-leveling, level and grade capability as well as machine control compatibility into one product. The 1242 is designed for use in a wide variety of applications, making it an ideal choice for those seeking value in their laser system.
"For contractors working on projects that involve level and grade components such as residential buildings, gas stations, convenience stores, golf courses and other commercial construction, the Model 1242 provides the technology necessary to improve accuracy and reduce rework. The system saves the contractor time and money," said Pat Bohle, vice president of marketing for Trimble's Engineering and Construction Division. "The 1242 is part of Trimble's family of laser products designed to give construction professionals solutions at nearly every price point without sacrificing technology, world-class support and service."
Unique to the Model 1242 is automatic self-leveling and grade capabilities of up to 25 percent. This is important for excavators and other operators who are digging basements, trenches, driveways or other potentially steep inclines. Not offered with competitive units, these capabilities make the Model 1242 the most versatile laser in its class.
Other key features include:
Patented AccuGuardTM compensator, the most accurate and temperature-stable compensator available
SafeGuardTM service warning that eliminates downtime
Visible beam that allows the laser to be used as a pipe laser for trench applications
LaserGuardTM two-year use and abuse warranty
The Model 1242 is available now through Trimble's Engineering and Construction Division dealer network. For product information, contact the Trimble Customer Support Group at 800-538-7800 or 937-233-8921 or via FAX at 937-233-9441.
