Mobile GIS

Mobile GIS is the use of geographic data in the field on mobile devices. It's an evolution of how the enterprise database is used and managed within an organization. Mobile GIS integrates three essential components; Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS), rugged handheld computers, and GIS software. Bringing these technologies together makes the enterprise database directly accessible to field based personnel—whenever and wherever it is required.

When firefighters or emergency workers are out managing the impacts of natural disasters they need to have current and accurate information to make decisions that will affect lives and resources.
