Bring full office capabilities to the field
For utility companies, municipalities, environmental management agencies, and many other organisations, a high-accuracy rugged tablet computer with full PC functionality and performance in harsh environments is a must.
The Trimble Yuma rugged tablet computer is the perfect solution in any industry requiring a completely integrated system for applications that require a larger display for complex data and better performance in a broader range of conditions.
In conjunction with a Trimble Mapping & GIS field software application or a custom application developed by a Trimble Mapping & GIS Business Partner, the Yuma tablet computer is the ideal platform for:
- Utilities: Underground asset mapping and inspection, water network modelling, as-built mapping of lines/cable installations, and incident/outage reporting.
- Local government: Urban asset mapping, underground asset relocation, municipal asset inventory and inspection.
- Environmental management: Weed management, water debris management, pollution mapping, environmental incident mapping, sample gathering, agricultural subsidy determination.

All-in-one mobile computing environment based on Windows 7 Professional Operating System
The Trimble Yuma tablet runs on a Windows® 7 Professional operating system, with a powerful Intel Atom 1.6 GHz processor, designed to run the same large applications as you would on your desktop PC. It has an 80 GB solid state hard drive built to run large, memory-hungry applications and 1 GB RAM. With the standard extended battery set it guarantees a full day's work with 8 hours operation and the battery set supports hot-swapping letting you exchange batteries in the field while the unit stays running.
Integrated two to five meter GNSS accuracy, decimeter accuracy with optional high-accuracy GNSS receiver
Offers high-yield GNSS with 2 to 5 meter accuracy after real-time differential correction or after postprocessing. Achieve decimeter accuracy when combined with a Trimble Pro 6H receiver, or submeter accuracy when combined with a Trimble Pro 6T receiver.
Seven-inch sunlight-readable WSVGA color touch screen with two geotag-enabled cameras
With a 1024 x 600 WSVGA screen, the large viewing space is optimal for a host of mapping and form-based applications and has a transmissive reflective screen with special coating to improve sunlight readability. With two integrated digital cameras—1.3 MP user-facing camera (for video conferencing / calls) and 2 MP outwards-facing camera—means you can capture photographs and video wherever you are in the field. Built-in geotagging adds a EXIF header with time, date, and GNSS location which ensures a picture can always be identified in space and time, even if it is separated from your GIS data. Photographs taken from within Trimble TerraSync™ software can be attached as an attribute to a GIS feature.
Integrated Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, with SDIO and ExpressCard slots for CDMA modem connectivity
You can communicate cable-free with other Bluetooth®-enabled devices such as a laser rangefinder, wireless headset, or barcode scanner. Connect to a variety of peripheral devices, or to the Internet and corporate networks for sending and receiving data, files, and email. SDIO slot accepts high-capacity memory cards up to 32 GB and enables connectivity to SDIO peripherals. ExpressCard slot allows the user to connect to a cellular modem card. Card slots covered by an extended cap ensures ruggedness and IP rating is maintained.
Outdoor rugged design
The Trimble Yuma tablet has a compact, lightweight form-factor, yet is rugged enough to withstand a constant outdoors working environment. Overcoming the elements presents a challenge, since water, dust and dirt easily threaten the internal components of all but the most rugged of outdoor computers. The Trimble Yuma tablet features an ingress protection rating of 67 (IP67), meaning it is sealed against dust and has been water immersion tested for 30 minutes at a depth of one meter (3.28 ft). Shock, vibration and extreme temperature fluctuation present further challenges to outdoor computing. The rugged design of the Trimble Yuma tablet incorporates a solid state hard drive, eliminating internal moving parts and providing protection against stress from impact and vibration. In addition, MIL-STD-810F specifications ensure that the Trimble Yuma tablet survives bitter cold, blistering desert heat, and everything in between.
Your one computer solution
The Trimble Yuma tablet is an integral part of the Trimble family of GIS data collection solutions, compatible with a full range of professional field software, including Trimble TerraSync™ and Trimble GPScorrect extension for Esri ArcPad software, as well as utilities field solutions software, including Trimble Fieldport® and UtilityCenter® software for GIS mapping and redlining, asset maintenance, mobile workforce management, field inspection, incident mapping, and outage response. You can easily integrate the Trimble Yuma tablet into your current workflows, alongside your other Trimble field equipment.

2 To ensure best performance when temperatures are below -4 °F (-20 °C), be sure battery is inserted in the device only when in use. When device is not in use at these temperatures, keep batteries in a pocket or stored in a warmer area.
3 Horizontal Root Mean Squared accuracy. Requires data to be collected using horizontal mounting, minimum of 4 satellites, PDOP mask at 99, SNR mask at 12 dBHz, elevation mask at 5 degrees, and reasonable multipath conditions. Ionospheric conditions, multipath signals or obstruction of the sky by buildings or heavy tree canopy may degrade precision by interfering with signal reception. Accuracy varies with proximity to base station by +1 ppm for postprocessing and real-time.
