From BIM to Sketch-Up, Trimble has a modeling solution for everyone. Models enable local governments to predict complications and potential impacts for improved planning and execution as well as change analysis for quantifiable result assessment.
- 3D Renderings - Local governments use Sketch-up for designing, modeling and visualizing projects. SketchUp and the 3D Warehouse, together with other Trimble tools from Accubid, HHK, Meridian, Plancal, QuickPen, Tekla, Trimble Business Center and the Trimble Connected Community will provide a stand-alone and enterprise solution that will enable an integrated and seamless workflow to reduce rework and improve productivity for the customer. Users will be able to collect data, design, model, and collaborate, all on one platform.
- BIM – Building Information Modeling - Tekla BIM and PlanCal software provide an accurate, dynamic, and data-rich 3D environment that can be shared by project stakeholders including local government departments, contractors, structural engineers, steel detailers and fabricators, as well as concrete detailers and manufacturers. Building information models enable the highest level of constructability and production control. Centralizing model and non-model based data into the 3D model allows for more collaborative and integrated project management and delivery from conceptual design to construction. Fragmented and inaccurate project information leads to delivery problems in the building and construction industry. Securing information flow and accuracy results in less costs, less waste, and projects delivered on time.

- EdgeFX - assists in accident reconstruction in 3D animation. This is the new standard in diagramming and animation software.
- Emergency Response Planning - The Trimble Indoor Mapping Solution (TIMMS) - Safety is a priority for local government agencies. Trimble TIMMS and Reverse RFID solutions offer indoor positional awareness for emergency situations. This technology is based on the reverse RFID method which utilizes GPS and RFID hardware and radio communication technologies to position first responders both indoors and outdoors. The technology reads "positions" indoors by using RFID tags that have been placed at known locations in the building and programmed with their location. The person to be tracked wears a RFID reader and radio which reads the tags, calculates the reader’s position and then communicates that position to an external command center.
Local governments collect a large amount of data. Sifting through and analyzing the vast amounts of imagery, LiDAR, and GIS data is cumbersome and costly. Trimble Geospatial solutions enable local governments to increase productivity, save time, and conduct automated analysis with the world’s most advanced feature extraction technology.
