Troubleshooting the Juno T41 handheld computer

If problems occur when using your Juno T41, please try these tips.

Remember: Installing the latest version of operating system may resolve the problem. In the App screen, tap Settings / About Phone, and you will find the OS version installed for Juno T41 and other system information. If you wish to update the firmware to the latest version, please contact your local service center. Please determine your symptom and proceed with troubleshooting if your device has the latest version of firmware installed.

Speaker/microphone

  2. Press VOLUME control buttons on the left of the device to see if the audio output volume is muted. If it is, try to rise up the volume.
  3. Try another headset (some third-party headsets need an adapter to be used in combination with Juno T41).
  4. If the above steps can’t solve this problem, contact Service.
Microphone volume is low
  1. If the display's clear protective-plastic film with which Juno T41 shipped is still left on the device, remove it.
  2. If you are using a third-party Juno T41 case, make sure that it is not blocking the microphone of Juno T41. Make some calls without the case and see if a caller can now hear you more clearly.
  3. If the Juno T41 has been in rain or immersed in water, shake or blow excess water from the microphone area and allow drying.
No sound through stereo headset
  1. Unplug the headset and make sure that nothing is blocking the headset jack.

Avoiding hearing damage

If the earbuds, headphones, speakerphone, or earpieces are used at high volume, permanent hearing loss may occur. Set the volume to a safe level. One can adapt over time to a higher volume of sound that may sound normal but can be damaging to your hearing. Stop listening and have your hearing checked if you experience ringing in your ears or muffled speech. The louder the volume, the less time is required before your hearing could be affected. To protect your hearing, experts suggest that:

  • Limit the amount of time you use the earbuds, headphones, speakerphone, or earpieces at high volume.
  • Do not turn up the volume to block out noisy surroundings.
  • Turn down the volume if you aren’t able to hear people speaking near you.

For information about how to set a maximum volume limit on the Juno T41, please refer to the Juno T41 User Guide.
