Steven W. Berglund

Steven Berglund has served as president and chief executive officer of Trimble since March 1999. Prior to joining Trimble, Mr. Berglund was president of Spectra Precision, a group within Spectra Physics AB. Mr. Berglund's business experience includes a variety of senior leadership positions with Spectra Physics, manufacturing and planning roles at Varian Associates, and began his career as a process engineer at Eastman Kodak. He attended the University of Oslo and the University of Minnesota where he received a B.S. in chemical engineering. Mr. Berglund received his M.B.A. from the University of Rochester. Mr. Berglund is a member of the board of directors of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group and a member of the board of trustees of World Educational Services.
Rajat Bahri

Rajat Bahri joined Trimble as chief financial officer in January 2005. Prior to joining Trimble, Bahri served for more than 15 years in various capacities within the financial organization of several subsidiaries of Kraft Foods, Inc. and General Foods Corporation. Most recently, he served as the chief financial officer for Kraft Canada, Inc. From June 2000 to June 2001 he served as chief financial officer of Kraft Pizza Company. From 1997 to 2000, Bahri was Operations Controller for Kraft Jacobs Suchard Europe. Bahri holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Delhi in 1985 and an M.B.A. from Duke University in 1987.
In 2005, he was elected to the board of STEC, Inc., a memory storage manufacturer.
Bryn A. Fosburgh

Bryn Fosburgh joined Trimble in 1994 as a technical service manager for surveying, mining, and construction. In 1997, Fosburgh was appointed director of development for the Company's land survey business unit where he oversaw the development of field and office software that enabled the interoperability of Trimble survey products. From October 1999 to July 2002, he served as division vice president of survey and infrastructure. From 2002 to 2005, Fosburgh served as vice president and general manager of Trimble's Geomatics and Engineering business area, with responsibility for all the division-level activities associated with survey, construction, and infrastructure solutions. In January 2005, he was appointed vice president and general manager of the Engineering and Construction Division. In October 2007, his role was expanded to include a number of divisions within the construction business, as well as a responsibility for a number of corporate functions and geographical regions.
In December of 2010, Fosburgh's responsibilities were realigned to include the heavy and highway construction business, Caterpillar-related joint ventures and the majority of the Mobile Solutions segment. Prior to Trimble, he was a civil engineer with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation responsible for coordinating the planning, data acquisition, and data analysis for statewide GPS surveying projects in support of transportation improvement projects. He has also held various engineering, research and operational positions for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Defense Mapping Agency. Fosburgh received a B.S. in geology from the University of Wisconsin in Green Bay in 1985 and an M.S. in civil engineering from Purdue University in 1989.
Chris Gibson

Chris Gibson has been with Trimble since 1998 in a variety of leadership roles including European finance and operations director, European managing director, division vice president for worldwide sales, general manager Global Services and most recently general manager for the Survey Division. In April of 2009, he was appointed to serve as vice president, responsible for the survey business, and executive committee member. In December 2010, his role was expanded to include a number of geographic regions and divisions, including building construction, cadastral, railway, construction tools, environmental and waste management as well as the Hilti joint venture.
Prior to Trimble, Gibson worked for Tandem Computers for nine years based in both the UK and the Netherlands in a number of financial management roles and following the acquisition by Compaq he was the European Finance Director for the Tandem Business Unit.
Early in Gibson's career, he held financial analyst roles within Unilever subsidiaries as well as the finance and operations manager for a hi-tech distribution company.
Gibson received a BA in Business Studies in 1985 from Thames Polytechnic, now the University of Greenwich, and was admitted as a Fellow to the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants in 1994.
Mark A. Harrington

Mark Harrington joined Trimble in January 2004 as a vice president, primarily responsible for strategy and business development. In October 2007 his responsibilities were expanded to include a number of divisions, including agriculture, mapping & geographical information systems, geospatial, mobile computing and forestry, infrastructure, power, process and plant (PPP), Trimble Outdoors, Applanix and Advanced Public Safety and as well as responsibility for a number geographical regions and the Trimble Delivers corporate program.
Prior to joining Trimble, Harrington served as vice president of finance at Finisar Corporation and chief financial officer for Cielo Communications, Inc., a photonics components manufacturer from 1998 to 2002, and Vixel Corporation, a photonics manufacturer from 1996 to 1998. His experience also includes 11 years at Spectra-Physics where he served in a variety of roles including vice president of finance for Spectra-Physics Lasers, Inc. and vice president of finance for Spectra-Physics Analytical, Inc.
Harrington began his career at Varian Associates, Inc. where he held a variety of management and individual positions in finance, operations and IT. Harrington received his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
James M. Veneziano

Jim Veneziano has served as a vice president and executive committee member of Trimble since 2009 and is currently responsible for Trimble’s Data Services and Hosting, Global Services and portions of the Advances Devices segment. Mr. Veneziano joined Trimble in 1990 as a manufacturing engineer in the company’s Operations group. In 1993, he was appointed director of Operations. In 1998, Mr. Veneziano was appointed director of marketing for Agriculture and Mapping and Geographic Information System (GIS). From 2000-2005, Mr. Veneziano served as the general manger of Agriculture. From 2005-2009, he was the general manager of Construction.
Prior to joining Trimble, Mr. Veneziano worked for Hewlett Packet in a variety of manufacturing positions including development engineer and engineering supervisor as well as new product introduction manager. He received a B.S. in electrical engineering from Colorado State University in Fort Collins in 1984.
Dennis L. Workman

Workman has served as vice president of various business divisions, currently including Advanced Devices and Applanix since September 1999. He was appointed Trimbles chief technical officer in March 2006. From 1998 to 1999, Workman was senior director and chief technical officer of the newly formed Mobile and Timing Technologies business group, also serving as general manager of Trimble's Automotive and Timing group. In 1997, he was director of engineering for Software & Component Technologies.
Workman joined Trimble in 1995 as director of the newly created Timing vertical market. Prior to Trimble, Workman held various senior-level technical positions at Datum Inc. During his nine year tenure at Datum, he held the position of CTO.
Workman received a B.S. in mathematics and physics from St. Marys College in 1967.
Ann Ciganer

Ann Ciganer joined Trimble in 1989 and became director of Government Relations. Since 1995, she has served as vice president of Strategic Policy, and has worked in the U.S. and internationally to help shape a stable and predictable policy environment for the Global Positioning System (GPS). She was a principal founder of the U.S. GPS Industry Council in 1991, and currently serves as the group's Executive Director for policy. The Council, an industry trade association, seeks to be a consensus information resource to government, the public, and media on technology in user applications and markets for national space-based systems providing positioning, navigation, and timing information. The Council interacts with international associations, such as the Japan GPS Council, to facilitate communications and cooperation in developing international industry consensus on technology and markets using Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) worldwide.
Ciganer, together with industry members, provided consensus support of U.S. Government efforts to develop a comprehensive export policy for GPS products and services. Ciganer supported the development of corporate and industry consensus positions for National Research Council, National Academy of Public Administration, and RAND Critical Technologies Institute studies on the future and management of GPS. She helped to develop Council industry positions in support of the first comprehensive national policy on GPS that was announced by the Vice President as a Presidential Decision Directive (PDD) in 1996. The PDD provided formal confirmation of the dual, civil-military nature of GPS and recognized the U.S. commitment to provide continuous availability of GPS worldwide, free of direct user fees. Ciganer, together with members of the Council, served as a consensus information resource to support Congressional efforts to include the provisions of the PDD in statutes such as the Defense Authorization Act of FY 1998.
Ciganer organized an industry team to assist the U.S. delegation at the 1997 World Radiocommunication Conference (WRC 97) in Geneva in a rapid response to an international proposal to overlay a Mobile Satellite Services (MSS) communication signal on the civilian GPS signal used by millions of civilian, commercial, and allied military users worldwide. On behalf of the Council, she helped develop industry consensus input to the national process for U.S. positions on GPS receivers and applications for International Telecommunications Union (ITU) studies of the technical feasibility of this sharing proposal. These technical studies resulted in the suppression of Resolution 220 at WRC 2000 that had proposed spectrum sharing with GPS. Ciganer supported the U.S. delegation at WRC 1997; was a private sector member of the U.S. Delegation at WRC 2000; and was a senior private sector advisor on the U.S. delegation at WRC 2003. Subsequent to WRC 97, Ciganer has taken a leadership position in the U.S. and internationally to help ensure protection of the radiofrequency spectrum allocated to GPS and GNSS use on behalf of the Council. Prior to Trimble, Ciganer was a Research Analyst at SRI International's System Development Division and before that, in SRI's Center for Urban and Regional Policy Analysis. At SRI, she participated in multi-disciplinary research studies that included evaluating and recommending the selection and use of technologies for integration in the infrastructure of developing countries and including public policy recommendations to help ensure the legacy benefit. She had task leadership responsibility in international research projects in Latin America and the Asia-Pacific. She was the first president of the Joint Venture: Silicon Valley Defense Space Consortium and was chair of the Bay Area Regional Technology Alliance.
Ciganer received her B.S. in Russian studies from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. and spent a semester at the University of St. Petersburg in Russia. She is fluent in French and conversant in Spanish and Russian.
Doug Brent

Technology Innovation
Doug Brent joined Trimble as vice president of Technology Innovation in July 2011. Mr. Brent has a twenty-five year record of management and leadership in high technology companies in Silicon Valley. Prior to Trimble, Mr. Brent served as Chief Operating Officer at ICANN from 2006 to 2010. Prior to his role at ICANN, he was the Chief Executive Officer of Packet Design Inc. from 2002 to 2005. Before Packet Design, Mr. Brent was vice president of engineering at Andes Networks, and vice president of engineering at Whistle Communications. When IBM acquired Whistle, he joined IBM as general manager for small business services, Global Small Business Division. Mr. Brent has also held executive and engineering management positions at Taligent (an Apple/IBM/HP joint venture) and Apple Computer. He has a B.A. from University of California at Santa Cruz and an M.B.A. from the University of Southern California.
James A. Kirkland

James A. Kirkland joined Trimble as vice president and general counsel in July 2008. Prior to joining Trimble, he worked for Covad Communications for four years serving as general counsel and executive vice president, strategic development. Kirkland also served as senior vice president of spectrum development and general counsel at Clearwire Technologies, Inc. from March 2001 to October 2003. Kirkland began his career in 1984 as an associate at Mintz Levin, one of the leading communications law firms in the U.S., and in 1992 he was promoted to partner. Kirkland received his BA from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. in 1981 and his J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1984.
Kirkland currently serves on the Board of Directors of the California Emerging Technology Fund, a nonprofit organization formed to help bridge the digital divide in California, and the Technical Advisory Group of the California TeleHealth Network, which is building a statewide broadband telehealth network reaching underserved communities. Kirkland also served as Chairman of the Economic Development Working Group for Governor Schwarzenegger's California Broadband Task Force.
Jürgen Kliem

Jürgen Kliem was appointed vice president of strategy and business development in October 2008. From 2002 to 2008, Kliem served as general manager of Trimble's Survey Division.
Kliem joined Trimble in July 2000 as part of the Spectra Precision acquisition. From 2000 to 2002, he was responsible for the Engineering and Construction segment's European operations. Prior to Spectra Precision, Kliem held various leadership roles at Geotronics, a company acquired by Spectra Precision, directing the European sales and marketing activities. Before joining Geotronics, Kliem worked in a privately-held surveying firm addressing cadastral, construction, plant and engineering projects.
Kliem received a Diplom Ingenieur degree from the University of Essen, Germany in 1982.
Peter O. Large
Vice President, Channel Development

Pete Large has served as a vice president and executive committee member of Trimble since 2010 and is currently responsible for strategic channel development and corporate marketing functions. From 2008 to 2010 he served as general manager of the Mapping & Geographic Information Systems Division and from 1996 to 2007 served in a number of worldwide sales, marketing and channel development leadership roles within the Survey Division. Prior to joining Trimble in 1996, Mr. Large was a surveyor in the land development and civil engineering consulting industry, working on projects in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Mr. Large received a BSc(Hons) in Surveying and Mapping Science from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK and an M.S. in Management from Stanford University, Graduate School of Business as a Sloan Fellow. He was elected an Associate Fellow of the Royal Institute of Navigation in 2002.
Bruce E. Peetz

Bruce Peetz joined Trimble in June 1988 and has held a variety of positions, including program and engineering management, and directing product development in both Surveying and Mapping. In January 1996, he was appointed general manager of Land Survey, and general manager of Systems Integration in 1998. In November 1998, Peetz was named vice president of Advanced Technology and Systems. Peetz was responsible for the integration of technologies that provide systems solutions as well as advanced technology efforts that were formerly a part of Trimble Labs. He also led the development of core software that may be leveraged across product lines.
Prior to joining Trimble, Peetz was a research and development manager at Hewlett-Packard.
Peetz received his B.S. in electrical engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He has more than 25 years experience in electronics, software, measurement and business.
Julie Shepard

Finance and Accounting Officer
Julie Shepard joined Trimble in December of 2006 as vice president of finance, and was appointed principal accounting officer in May 2007. Shepard brings with her over 20 years of experience in a broad range of finance roles. She is responsible for Trimble's worldwide finance operations including financial planning, accounting, and external reporting.
Prior to joining Trimble, Shepard served as vice president of finance and corporate controller at Quantum Corporation, from 2005 to 2006, and prior to that, from 2004 to 2005, as an independent consultant to Quantum Corporation. She was vice president of finance at Nishan Systems from 2000 to 2003. Shepard began her career at Price Waterhouse and is a Certified Public Accountant.
She received a B.S from California State University where she majored in Accounting.
Mary Kay Strangis

Mary Kay Strangis joined Trimble as vice president of human resources in August 2008, with an extensive background that includes leadership positions in human resources and financial management. From 2006 to 2008 she served as a vice president of compensation and benefits at Spansion LLC, a previous joint venture of AMD and Fujitsu. She had a variety of roles at Agilent Technologies including director of executive compensation and global equity programs as well as finance controller positions.
Strangis began her career at Hewlett Packard in 1981 where she held senior management positions in financial planning and analysis.
She holds a BS degree in business administration from San Jose State University.
