IMPORTANT:

• Record the software Option Key - After an operating system upgrade is performed, any application that is not included with the basic operating system will need to be re-installed. This includes Trimble Construction Layout software. Because the Trimble Construction Layout Software needs to be re-installed, users will be prompted to enter the Option Key that enables the software to run on the controller when they launch the software. Users should write down the Option Key before performing the operating system upgrade. The software option key is found in the About screen of the software and is a 16 character code. The Option Key is serial number specific so it can only be used to enable the software on that controller.

• Backup all data - It is also very important that all important data be backed up on a local desktop computer. An operating system install will erase all data on the controller including the Built-In Storage folder.
