Features & Benefits
Trimble SCS900 Site Controller Software
Trimble SCS900 Site Controller Software provides an easy-to-use graphical interface that enables surveyors, grade checkers, site engineers, and foremen to do their jobs faster and more efficiently. Trimble SCS900 Site Controller Software helps efficiently control and quantify site operations without relying on a contract surveyor for site measurement and stakeout. It is easy to learn and can be used with Trimble GNSS or total station equipment.
The software organizes job site information the same way contractors already work, and an intuitive interface makes SCS900 easy to learn and use for tasks such as grade checking, staking or measuring as-builts. It increases productivity from day one.
Advanced communications help contractors realize significant savings by eliminating the time and cost of driving data files to and from the field. Engineers can send design changes and work orders to field crews, who can transfer progress reports, on-site problems, and as-built data back to the office at the touch of a button.
Trimble Remote Assistant enables better training of remote workers and immediate technical support to site surveyors, grade checkers, and supervisors using SCS900. Remote Assistant keeps crews working without the time and cost of waiting for a technician to drive to the construction site.
This connectivity reduces delays and increases the likelihood that projects finish on time and under budget.
Optional Roading and Advanced Measurement Modules include many additional time-saving features that are unique to those specific tasks.
The Trimble SCS900 Roading Module supports road and highway projects by incorporating full alignment geometry, station equations, width transitions and multiple roadways within a selected road job. The Roading Module provides a single solution to all road staking needs - from roadway features to catch points to custom subgrades.
In addition, the grade checking functions allow contractors to easily perform as-built checks and quality control.
Advanced Measurement Module
The Trimble SCS900 Advanced Measurement Module improves informed decision-making by capturing additional information with each measured point; for example, photos, dimensions, conditions and material type add more valuable information about a feature than just its position. This information can be remotely sent back to the office and analyzed in Business Center.
Features & Benefits of the SCS900 Site Controller Software
SCS900 offers numerous features and benefits for construction measurement tasks, including those listed below:
|Why the technology?||Why it is important to you?|
|Targeted site measurement workflows for contractors||Conduct your own site positioning tasks without the need to call in a contract surveyor to set stakes or compute volumes. Easy-to-use tools increase productivity, eliminate mistakes, and drive consistency - even with inexperienced operators.|
|Continuous real-time position, station and offset, elevation and cut/fill to the selected design||Query designs and position information quickly and easily. If the data isn't already stored, it can be keyed in, interpreted from what is available and used to compute slopes, distances, areas, volumes and cut/fill in seconds. The software facilitates instant decision-making, while troubleshooting site problems and managing day to day operations.|
|Powerful data management tools||Organize data for multiple crews into sites, designs and work orders facilitating rapid access and automated retrieval of interrelated information in the field or office.|
|Intelligent data syncing||Ensure that all crews and the office data manager have the same, correct and latest information. Control and stakeout points created by one crew or design changes made by the office data manager are copied to all crews on the project. This structured approach to data management eliminates site problems, reduces errors and associated rework, and allows productivity and performance of field crews and site machinery to be monitored and analyzed.|
Contractors in highways, site preparation, earthworks, landfill, waste disposal, and mining can use Trimble SCS900 Site Controller Software for:
- Establishing and checking site control for GPS or total station operations performing initial site measurement and verification of original ground levels
- Measuring and locating existing site features
- Checking finished grade and laid material thickness against design elevations and tolerances
- Computing progress and material stockpile volumes doing stake out for earthworks, side slopes, catch points, roads, utilities, finished grade, pads and structures
- Managing, monitoring, and conducting quality control for excavation and grading operations
- Assessing as-built measurements and generating high quality reports for record keeping, client approvals and payment
