Trimble Universal Total Stations

The Trimble® SPS730 and SPS930 Universal Total Stations were designed specifically for the high traffic scenarios typically found on a construction site. Unique Trimble technology ignores environmental obstructions and eliminates the possibility that the instrument would lock onto the wrong reflective surface such as a reflective vest or light cover on a vehicle.
Available in several accuracy levels, the SPS series Universal Total Stations provide superior tracking for all site measurement tasks, including:

The Servo two-person model is ideal for everyday construction applications such as stakeout and measurements.
The Autolock model allows two-person operation without the need to focus or fine adjust; the instrument locks on and follows the target. Measure to the same accuracy all day long, removing errors due to operator stress.
The one-person Robotic model measures the position of the active or passive target and reports that position information via radio link to the controller.
Trimble total stations use optics and/or laser beams to measure angles and distances. By first measuring to known points, the total station calculates its own position relative to these control points, and then calculates the position of the measurement target in 3D.
Trimble SPS Series Universal Total Stations provide the highest possible degree of accuracy for construction site positioning, stakeout, measurement and machine control. They are very well suited for use on:
- Smaller construction sites or combined with GNSS on larger sites
- Tasks where the accuracy requirements are very tight: 3 millimeters (0.01 feet)
- Measuring dangerous or inaccessible locations
- High precision machine control and guidance
Stockpile scanning capabilities allow you to measure and build the model of the stockpile on site; just check that sufficient points or breaklines have been measured and then calculate the volume in the field. Any missing data or errors can be rectified without the need to return to the site.
Profile scanning allows you to scan vertical / sloping faces from a remote location and compare the new profile to the previous measurements.
Automated target measurement provides a method of checking and warning about movement of ground or buildings that could be affected by construction activities.
UTS capability reliably tracks a machine target and passes the positioning information from the total station to earthmoving machine as quickly and accurately as possible. The machine operator can conduct real-time fine grading operations to millimeter accuracy while minimizing rework and increasing profits.
Fastest and Tightest Accuracy Total Stations on the Market
The Trimble SPS930 Universal Total Station is accurate to one arc second in the vertical and horizontal angles, making it ideal for fine grading operations where the accuracy tolerance is very tight. The Trimble SPS730 Universal Total Station provides three arc second accuracy in the horizontal plane and two arc second accuracy in the vertical, for contractors who want to take advantage of the same proven Trimble technology at a lower price point.
The Trimble SPS730 and SPS930 Universal Total Stations also lead the market with the fastest update rate available today. Featuring fixed, low latency, synchronized data and a 20 Hz update rate, the Trimble Universal Total Stations allow the user to reliably track a machine target and know the data is being passed from the instrument to the machine as quickly and accurately as possible. The motor grader or dozer operator can conduct real-time fine grading operations to millimeter accuracy while minimizing rework and increasing profits.
Universal Total Stations are available in four models, depending on the level of functionality needed.
