Sample projects:
With 360,000 customers spread over 44,000 square kilometers, New Brunswick Power line designers faced a substantial workload. The challenge was to improve productivity; simply adding more designers was not a workable, long-term solution. NB Power required an asset management tool that could generate work orders and keep track of work completed daily. The new system would need to be compatible with existing GIS and outage management applications, as well as integrate with the 20-year-old scheduling application. Most importantly, NB Power wanted a system that would allow employees to focus their attention on the job at hand-line design. Powel StakeOut design software was chosen because of its easy-to-use interface, user feedback regarding productivity gains, and the ease of sharing information throughout NB Power's five regions by virtue of an open database. The requirement from Iowa Lakes Electric Cooperative was to streamline their complete work order process, ensure an easy transition for field staff, and electronically reproduce their well-accepted construction sheet reports. They selected Powel's Mobile Work Management platform for Field Design, Inspections, and AMR Deployment, as well as integration to the GIS. |
