Establishing sub-meter GPS positions on 710,000 poles distributed over 4,400 square miles in Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. Currently performing a field inventory focusing on collection of joint use information and involving location of specified network features to sub-meter GPS accuracy. The inventory covers a six-state area of the Northwestern US and includes 1.5 million poles. Performing a major field audit establishing an accurate inventory of network assets including customer-to-transformer connections in AEP's Smallworld GIS. The resulting asset data is needed to support outage management and other key support systems for the utility's SWEPCO service territory spanning Arkansas, Texas, and Louisiana. |
