Geostudio S.r.l

Geostudio S.r.l is based in Milan, Italy. For many years they have specialized in surveying, photogrammetric, and cartographic software applications for office and field activities. Their products—Geos, GeosW, and Wintop—have been among the most popular surveying applications in Italy for desktop computers in recent years.

Based on their experience with land and marine surveying applications, Geostudio developed GeoGisCE, a mobile GIS application for desktop computers and Microsoft® Windows® CE mobile devices including Trimble® GeoExplorer® series handhelds. Additionally the software has been used on a TSCe™ datalogger with GPS Pathfinder® Power, Pro XR, and Pro XRS receivers. The product was initially developed for surveyors, using familiar surveying-specific procedures, but for GIS-specific applications. The software is based on GPS Pathfinder Tools Software Development Kit (SDK) utilities. Interfaced to a TSIP or NMEA receiver, the software allows efficient mission planning, and geodatabase update and creation.

Geostudio offers customization of GeoGisCE for specific requirements.

Sample projects:

• Coastal erosion

Marine application interfaced to an echosounder to calculate the digital terrain model (DTM) of the sea bottom and the sand movements to study the coastal erosion.
• Road Cadastre Project

This involves the mapping road condition, traffic signs, advertisements and other features along the roadways. Data logging and measurements are performed from running vehicles and interfaced to external sensors.
