American Electric Power (AEP) is one of the largest electric utilities in the United States, delivering electricity to more than 5 million customers in 11 states. GSI Works provides software, Trimble GPS hardware, and services to AEP since 2001 to support line design, inspections, and storm damage assessment. More than 500 AEP designers use GSI software for capturing GPS positions in the field, and transfer this data seamlessly to Itron LD-Pro software. Hydro-Quebec (HQ) is the provincial electric utility of Quebec serving more than 4 million customers. In 2009, HQ contracted with GSI Works to provide a technology solution for pole inspection and Smallworld GIS validation. HQ used the system to complete 82,000 pole inspections in 2010. HQ plans to inspect 125,000 poles in 2011, and in excess of 150,000 each year in 2012 and 2013. Southwest Gas Corporation (SW Gas) provides natural gas service to more than 1.8 million customers in most of Arizona and Nevada, and parts of northeastern and southeastern California.
