3-GIS is developing a new suite of server-based software emerging in the GIS arena that most GIS service providers are not properly considering in new projects. As a new company, 3-GIS does not carry the burden of being tied to archaic GIS applications and can look at these new applications to determine how cutting-edge technologies can be exploited to benefit its customers. As one of 3-GIS's core products, we offer an ESRI ArcGIS Server-based application that allows for field editing and data collection with minimal configuration and integration effort, aptly named Field Express Chameleon (FxC). Field Express Chameleon is the next generation mobile solution with simplicity and ease-of-use primarily in mind. FxC simplifies the technician’s experience in the field by deploying a product that can mimic work-flows and worksheets currently in use in the field. By doing so, FxC greatly reduces the training time of the end-user while equally accelerating the acceptance of new field technology. By natively running on Trimble® Windows Mobile® devices, this simplicity is even further amplified due to the ubiquitous nature and clever design of Trimble products. Another of 3-GIS's core products is Network Express, an ESRI ArcGIS Server based application that acts as a desktop client. As with Field Express, Network Express requires minimal configuration and provides a simple user environment, driven off the same configuration as Field Express. As a back end to these products 3-GIS also offers Express Server. Express Server embeds ESRI ArcGIS Server technology which handles the complex task of proving a simple and secure manner to provide thin clients and mobile users access to data and the functionality they need to do their jobs. Express Server delivers the platform to build your entire enterprise from planning, engineering, construction, maintenance, and field crews all the way to executive management. 3-GIS is a Small Business Administration approved Hub Zone Company. 3-GIS delivered a project for Tri-State that includes a geodatabase implementation and a deployment of 3-GIS’s Field Express Chameleon product. 3-GIS then configured Field Express Chameleon to work with the geodatabase allowing Tri-State to capture both inspection results and infrastructure information in the field using the Trimble Juno™ ST handheld and Trimble Recon® handheld. 3-GIS created a solution for Austin Energy that offered such capabilities as predefined search, tracing, and routing with turn-by-turn directions. Using mobile devices, Austin Energy captured redline data that transferred from an ESRI ArcGIS Server to a GE Energy Smallworld system at specific intervals to improve the overall accuracy of the distribution network as-built data. The Distribution Maintenance Inspection data then sends the appropriate Austin Energy staff for scheduling work assignments. 3-GIS created a solution for Trinidad & Tabago Electric Commission that offers facilities management tools for enterprise querying and reporting against the repository of information stored in a GIS system. Using Field Express Chameleon, Trinidad & Tabago Electric Commission collected GPS locations of all of the company’s current assets. With each asset geo-referenced, the T&TEC field crews now manage inspection results using the Trimble Juno ST handheld. |
