The June 2009 issue of Trimble Agriculture's StraightTalk is now available.

What's in this issue?

  • Point Row to Point Row—Every Time. Hilly terrain and contours used to mean wasted seed, but not anymore. Tom Muhr, a corn and soybean farmer from Exira, Iowa, explains he's using less seed and saving money since he added Tru Count air clutches to his planter three years ago.
  • Energy Savings. Find out how Trimble customers save fuel and input costs using Trimble technology. And read how Trimble technology makes strip tillage and double-row planting configurations possible.
  • First Autopilot in Lithuania. RTK VRS service yields sub 2.5 cm accuracy for a thousand-hectare cooperative farm in central Lithuania.
  • RTK Accuracy. High accuracy steering finds many uses on a mid-sized farm in Ontario, saving time and input costs on the 1,250 acre, 90-cow operation.

New from Trimble:

  • The recent Trimble acquisition of NTech Industries gives Trimble customers even more ways to save on fertilizer and herbicide costs while reducing their impact on the environment. NTech is a leading provider of crop-sensing technology that allows farmers to reduce costs and environmental impact by controlling the application of nitrogen, herbicide and other crop inputs. The systems are typically utilized with GPS solutions and flow and application control products, both of which are supported by Trimble's precision agricultural portfolio of products.
  • Beyond GPS. Trimble technology embraces GNSS with Trimble products being designed with an eye to the future, such as the new Trimble® AG25, a multiband GNSS antenna. The new generation of products will use Trimble's proprietary Transcend™ technology, with the industry's most advanced GPS chipset for more accuracy in more places.
