OmniSTAR G2, XP, HP and VBS Correction Services in New Zealand Switch from AUSAT to POR Satellite Beam
On February 26th, 2018, OmniSTAR® HP and OmniSTAR VBS corrections for New Zealand users transitioned off the
AUSAT satellite beam and onto the POR satellite beam only. This transition affects all New Zealand users of the OmniSTAR G2, XP, HP, and VBS correction services.
The POR satellite beam is broadcasting OmniSTAR G2, XP, HP, and VBS corrections for New Zealand. To ensure that there is no disruption in service, customers should change their receiver configuration to use the POR beam instead of the AUSAT beam. Customers will need to manually set or change their device settings to continue receiving corrections.
What is changing?
OmniSTAR HP and VBS corrections for New Zealand will no longer be broadcast on the AUSAT satellite beam. The VBS/HP corrections for New Zealand will continue to be broadcast on the POR satellite beam.
What are the effects of this change?
Customers using OmniSTAR HP and/or VBS correction services will no longer be able to use the AUSAT satellite beam to receive corrections; customers must manually change their receiver configuration to use the POR beam.
Customers using OmniSTAR G2 and/or XP correction services may notice a degradation in performance when using the AUSAT beam. This may include:
- Slower convergence times as a result of no VBS-seeding available, and
- No VBS-backup solution when a G2/XP solution is not available.
Customers must manually change their receiver configuration to use the POR beam to avoid any potential issues.

On February 26th, 2018, the OmniSTAR HP and VBS corrections will no longer be broadcast on the AUSAT satellite beam.

Customers must update their receiver configuration to use the POR satellite beam; this may require a manual input of the frequency and baud rate for the POR satellite beam.

In general, from the OmniSTAR settings location for a receiver, you will need to change the OmniSTAR satellite from either Auto or AUSAT to POR. If the POR satellite beam is not available to choose from, manually enter the frequency and baud rate for the POR satellite beam.

Change of Satellite Beam for Trimble RTX Services and Trimble xFill
In order to continue providing exceptional quality of service, on October 25th, 2016, the RTXEA satellite beam stopped broadcasting Trimble RTX™ corrections, affecting the Europe, Middle East and Africa regions. Trimble RTX corrections for these regions will be available on the satellite beam RTXAE.
The new RTXAE beam is currently active on 1539.8125 MHz, 2400 baud.
RTXEA stopped broadcasting on 1539.9525 MHz, 600 baud as of October 25th 2016.
Customers, who have changed their receiver settings in December 2015 from satellite beam RTXEU to the new beam RTXAE, are already receiving corrections using the new satellite beam RTXAE.
On the 'Receiver Instructions' tab, select the make and model of your GPS receiver for detailed instructions on how to change the device settings.
