The Juno T41 offers combined feature options to provide customers the handheld that meets their specific needs in the field: Enhanced GPS, 1D/2D barcode imaging, Smartphone capability or not, choice of Windows or Android operating systems, rugged dust and water ingress protection ratings of IP65 or IP68 and now: Ultra-High Frequency RFID, all with the standard data collection functionality built into the Juno T41.


Juno T41 Handheld Computers

All Juno T41 handheld computer units contain a 1 GHz processor, 512 MB RAM and 8GB-32GB of storage with either Android 4.1 or Microsoft WEHH 6.5 operating systems. Other standard features include an 8 MP integrated camera, standard 2-4 meter GPS capability, multi-touch capacitive 4.3" sunlight-readable display and all-day battery life. The "X" configuration is designed to replace Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) smartphones with SMS text and 3.75 cellular voice data transfer capabilities on GSM networks worldwide.

Ultra-High Frequency (UHF) Support

The Juno T41 R will automatically recognize tags across a variety of frequencies and work with any size or style of RFID tag that is designed for customized solutions. UHF RFID is an increasingly commonplace technology using the 860 to 960 MHz frequency range.

Automatically Configured and Ready for Use Around the World

Using the latest EPCglobal Gen 2 RFID technology, the device uses two different antenna ranges to read or recognize the unique identification of an asset anywhere in the world.

  • ETSI Certified (EU): 865.6-867.6 MHz bands
  • ACMA Certified (AU/NZ): 920-926 MHz bands

All configurations of the Juno T41 are available in either Android 4.1 or WEHH 6.5.

Android 4.1 (nicknamed "Jelly Bean") provides increased battery efficiency, improved security options, more robust Wi-Fi and Bluetooth® and a much-improved, sleek user-interface over earlier versions of the Android OS. (The Juno T41 was introduced last year with Android 2.3.4 "Gingerbread." Trimble will continue to offer support for those units, and also we offer a free upgrade to 4.1, contact your representative for details.)

For our Android customers, Trimble MCS has also integrated several additional features to support software applications and ease development time: Assisted-GPS, USB tethering, and USB host capabilities from JAVA for easier integration with hardware peripherals.

WEHH 6.5 from Microsoft® is designed to work seamlessly with the Microsoft Office® Suite of products, making it the ideal hand held computer for workers who share documents and workflow with an office.

Handheld Computer Specifications: the "C" or "X" Configuration

1D/2D Barcode Imager: the "S" Configuration

Trimble Scan Technology in the Juno T41 reads an array of traditional 1D barcodes as well as 2D matrix codes, plus digitally captures signatures and images. All of these features are customizable using the Trimble "Scan Agent" application. Enterprise solutions can also use the Software Development Kit (SDK) to optimize for specific customer needs.

Omni-directional reading capabilities along with high motion tolerance will allow rapid, accurate scanning no matter what the angle or orientation the unit is to the barcodes. The white light illumination with red LED sight line simulates laser scanner performance and provides fool-proof barcode reading in real world conditions: dirt & mud, glass and bright surfaces, harsh & dark conditions and partially obstructed barcodes or matrices.

Enhanced GPS, 1-2 Meter Real-Time Accuracy: the "G" Configuration

The T41 G uses SBAS and a GPS Accuracy Algorithm to provide dramatic improvements termed Enhanced GPS. Under the correct conditions, Enhanced GPS allows data collection with 1-2 meter accuracy in real-time, while gathering raw data output for post-processing applications.

Enhanced GPS can be paired with any other Juno T41 configuration including the basic handheld computer, smartphone, or the 1D/2D Barcode Imager to get extra value out of existing workflows.

The Juno T41 G solution, using the GPS L1 band, offers reliable performance in reduced signal environments. Field workers who have to move from place to place to collect far-flung assets won’t have to waste time waiting for a system warm-up: the Juno T41 G tests at an average cold start of less than 33 seconds, and a warm start of less than 3 seconds. The Juno T41 G is also designed to work with Trimble VRS, a service of Trimble Positioning Services.
